On the 2nd January 2011, brothers Mathew and Christian will begin one of the world’s toughest rowing challenges, and row across the Atlantic Ocean unsupported in order to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease.
This 3000 mile rowing challenge will see Mathew and Christian pushed to intolerable levels of physical and mental endurance. Luckily both of them are former Royal Marines and are used to extreme conditions with little or no sleep and rationed food. Since they left the Royal Marines, both have worked on rescue boats in the North Sea, and they are no strangers to the demands of an ocean environment.
The journey begins in St. Sebastian, De la Gomera, Canary Islands and will finish in English Harbour, Antigua. All being well the journey should take them anywhere between 40 and 60 gruelling days and nights. Neither of them have rowed an ocean before.
WE ARE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF SPONSORS TO HELP US FUND OUR FANTASTIC CHALLENGE SO IF YOU CAN HELP PLEASE GET IN TOUCH, CONTACT DETAILS ON THE CONTACT PAGE.
